July 1st and July 8th
Last week at just about this time we were pulling into Clearfield at my Mom and Dad's house in Iowa. What a long drive that was! It's always worth the trip though, as we all have so much fun when we are there, especially over the 4th of July when there are alot of different activities going on.
The kids (especially Emma) LOVE Grandma and Grandpa's black raspberry patch! Grandpa has been working hard at keeping it enclosed with a mesh fence so the birds can't eat all of the berries. We did find a baby grackle in there and chased him out the first time, the second time I used Grandpa's air rifle and took him out. He won't be visiting the berry patch anytime soon! Emma is trying her hardest to get into the patch and eat her fill of raspberries!
She finally made it in! Grandpa is helping out by showing Emma which berries to pick. Not the red ones!
There were too many, so she went in to get a bucket. They certainly cleared all of the ripe berries out of the patch.
Colton and Emma are such goofballs! This afternoon we went to the movie theater to see WALL-E. Gage, Dustin and Colton seemed to really enjoy it. Emma was restless and worried that it was going to be midnight when we left the theater and there would be no time to play when we got home. As for me, well I had this overpowering urge to want to rest my eyes! I nearly fell asleep 3 or 4 times! Actually, I did fall asleep 3 or 4 times. That must be a sign of old age creeping up on me. I can't "hang" with the kids anymore! I remember when I was little and we went shopping in Sioux City at the mall. My Mom sent my Dad, me and my brother to the movie, The Muppets Take Manhattan. My Dad fell asleep and my brother and I were running all over the theater and crawling under the seats, etc. I guess I'm lucky that didn't happen!
Half the crew wanted their picture taken next to this poster, and half wanted the other poster, so we did both. :-) Emma and Colton are still being goofy!
Getting ready for the movie to start. We're going to have to take a break for a couple of days because at this rate I will have blown the money my sister sent and a couple hundred of my own! YIKES! It just isn't cheap to do anything these days!
